St. Patrick's Day parade in Brentwood set for March 21

Posted

All are invited to attend the 52nd annual Brentwood St. Patrick’s Day Parade down Washington Avenue, at 1 p.m. on March 21, the Saturday after the holiday.

Those marching will convene at the Washington Avenue/Clarke Street intersection and proceed southward down Washington Avenue and over Suffolk Avenue. The parade will end at the viewing stand at Ross Park on Brentwood Road.

Brentwood Parade Committee chairman Michael J. Grant Jr. said last year’s parade was successful and enjoyed by all those who attended.

“With your attendance and support, we hope to make this year’s parade even more successful,” Grant wrote in a press release announcing the event.

This year’s grand marshal is Edwin D. Callaghan. Callaghan attended Brentwood schools and has been a kindergarten music teacher as well as the director of music theater programs at Brentwood High School for over 30 years. He has taught well over 20,000 students coming through the Brentwood School District.
