Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center in Central Islip is home to many dogs and cats in need of a forever family. The shelter, located at 200 S. Technology Drive, is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the public is invited to say hello to all of the adoptable animals. Here are five dogs in search of a new home!
Ginny
Ginny is described as a sweet and quirky husky who is looking for her new best friend. She loves to play with her favorite humans and is known for having the funniest personality. She is smart, knows basic commands, and walks nicely on a leash. Ginny also gets along well with other dogs and is currently one of the longest residents at the shelter
Luca and Bella
Luca is a 3-year-old cattle dog/pointer mix known for being sweet, loving, and full of energy. He is joined by Bella, an 8-year-old sweet shepherd.
Ruthie
Ruthie is an 8-year-old senior pitbull mix with a gentle and loving spirit. She thrives best in a quiet environment where she can decompress.
Taki
Taki is a spunky terrier mix who is between 1 and 2 years old. He would do best in a quiet home with no small children and an owner willing to give him the time to come out of his shell.
