Bellport Day: Wholesome community fun

The Bellport Chamber of Commerce will once again be hosting their annual Bellport Day celebration on Saturday, July 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with road closures from the Four Corners to the Bellport Fire House on South Country Road.

Shop owners, according to chamber co-president LuAnn Thompson, will be setting up extended shopping displays along the Main Street as well as business members and nonprofit groups.

“The Bellport Chamber of Commerce is so thankful we received a grant from Legis. Dominick Thorne to have a wonderful family free event with live performances, circus performers, and music throughout the day,” she said of what made the day possible. “Bringing families into Bellport Village for these events benefits our businesses and members. Please come and enjoy the day and discover what Bellport has to offer. “

This year will include all-day music and entertainment at the main stage: The New Students, Stage Door School of Dance, Chain Reaction, the National Circus Project, and Sitting Ducks Trio.

A juggler and stilt walker will be performing throughout the day. Stage Door School of Dance will be performing as well. Also, there will be slot cars.

Bellport Fire Department will also be holding their annual craft fair. Don’t miss South Bay Art Association’s annual Plein Air Art Exhibit and sale, and be sure to check out the chamber table for this year’s festival poster contest winner John Montefusco’s acrylic painting of “Sailboat on Bellport Dock.”
