Bellport’s scoring woes continued in the second quarter. Deer Park held Bellport to nine first-half points and went into the locker room with a 31-9 lead.
Bellport fought back, out-scoring Deer Park 33-24 in the second half. The Clippers cut the deficit to 12 points late in the game, but couldn’t get any closer.
“They outplayed us on all ends—offensively, defensively, rebounding,” Bellport assistant coach Rich Brown said.
