Come see Santa on the farm

Long Island Game Farm to host holiday festivities

Posted

Santa Claus will officially be returning to Long Island Game Farm on select weekends in December.

The Santa on the Farm is presented by the Foundation for Wildlife Sustainability. The wonderland event will feature photos with Santa, holiday crafts, and visits with game farm animals.

“The winter season is a great time to observe how some animals adapt for winter with longer, fluffier coats for warmth,” said farm owner Melinda Novak. “Then, on to Woodland Hall to warm up while making a nature craft or having a hot chocolate is a great winter tradition for our families.”

In addition to seeing Santa, the experience, according to Novak, allows for participants to walk through the park seeing, petting, and feeding animals along the way.

“The heated, magical, decorated Woodland Hall is unforgettable for a child. We are so proud of our indoor space,” she added. “And visitors are helping raise dollars for the Foundation for Wildlife Sustainability to enable them to continue with the education programming throughout the coming year.”

The second annual event has become a tradition, according to the foundation, that aligns with their mission to connect people with wildlife and the natural environment through awareness activities and engaging experiences, and to support the work of the Long Island Game Farm.

“Having Santa at the Game Farm is another fun way to introduce families to wildlife sustainability and the programs we offer throughout the year,” said Foundation for Wildlife Sustainability executive director Patricia Snyder. “Every opportunity for kids and adults to engage with the natural environment is a plus.”
