Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services recently secured a Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Declaration for Suffolk County.
As part of their ongoing recovery efforts, they will be operating two Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) in the hardest-hit areas: the Village of Head of the Harbor and the Town of Brookhaven. The centers opened on Wednesday, Dec. 4, starting at 11 a.m., and will remain open for two weeks.
Their hours of operation will be Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center will close on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 4 p.m.
The SBA will offer low-interest loans to help homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofits recover from physical damage caused by the disaster.
Additionally, Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are available to businesses and nonprofits facing financial hardship due to the storm. We are also committed to assisting applicants in securing Public Assistance for their damages.
In addition to the SBA loan program, SC FRES is continuing to work with New York State to appeal the denial of Individual Assistance for Suffolk County. This remains a priority as they advocate for comprehensive support for residents and businesses.
