Town Toy Drive, Friday, Dec. 13
On Friday, Dec. 13, all the JVC Broadcasting Radio Stations will broadcast from the Brookhaven Town Hall lobby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to promote the Town’s INTERFACE Toy Drive.
The Town of Brookhaven-JVC Broadcasting Toy Drive is open to the public and those who stop by are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy appropriate for children ranging from infant to 15 years of age. All donated toys will be given to families in need during this holiday season.
Patchogue Menorah Lighting, Sunday, Dec. 29
Temple Beth-El asks the community to join them in prayer and song at the lighting of the menorah at Capital One Plaza on Main Street on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 4:30 p.m.
Santa Mail Drop, Saturday, Dec. 21
The Patchogue Parks & Rec Department will be hosting a letters to Santa drop-off event at 380 Bay Avenue at 10 a.m. Also, there will be fun packs with reindeer food.
“It’s a Wonderful Life in Patchogue,” Dec. 14 and 15
“It’s a Wonderful Life... In Patchogue” will feature many small skits from the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” in and around the village, Dec. 14 and 15.
David Kennedy, executive director of the Patchogue Business Improvement District and former executive director of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, has been named the inaugural grand marshal of the event.
The event will feature acted scenes adapted from the film throughout the village; character actors walking throughout town dressed in 1940s style with Transatlantic accents; around 40 1940s and earlier cars driving throughout town and parking at the Carnegie Library; newsies dressed up around town; street musicians performing Christmas songs and 1940s hits throughout the village; Christmas carolers throughout the village; swing dance classes; Santas collecting donations for the nonprofit community; screenings of the film “It’s A Wonderful Life”; photo opportunities throughout town; various activities for families and kids at the library and AR Workshop; opening and closing ceremonies led by the grand marshal David Kennedy; plus, much more to come!

Kris Kringle Mingle, Wednesday, Dec. 18
The Harbor Crab Co. will be hosting their 20th annual Kris Kringle Mingle at the restaurant, located on Division Street in Patchogue. All proceeds will benefit the Kris Kringle Foundation. Brookhaven Town Menorah Lighting, Thursday, Dec. 26
The town will host their annual menorah lighting at Brookhaven Town Hall, 1 Independence Hill in Farmingville. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature entertainment, hot latkes and doughnuts.
Midnight on Main, Sunday, Dec. 31
The New Year’s Eve celebration will happen on Sunday, Dec. 31 at the intersection of West Main Street and West Avenue. The party starts at 7 p.m. There will be a D.J., hot cocoa, food, free party hats and noisemakers. The ball will rise at Patchogue’s “midnight” at 9 p.m.
