The home is part of the Suffolk County 72H Transfer Program, a New York State law that allows Suffolk County to transfer parcels of land to municipalities for the construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing. The Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) has worked with Suffolk County, Brookhaven Town and other federal and state entities on the program.
