A bewitching good time has been conjured by the creative team at CM Performing Arts Center in Oakdale with “Annabelle Broom, the Unhappy Witch,” with performances throughout October.
The children’s musical is great for students with some laughs for the parents as well. The runtime is 75 minutes with one 15-minute intermission.
Annabelle Broom is a witch who just can’t seem to get witchcraft “right.”
While the other witches cackle, scheme, and scare, Annabelle would rather lend a helping hand, wear something stylish, and brighten the world with kindness.
Unfortunately, the Head Witch is not amused. Unless Annabelle learns to terrify a couple of lost children, she risks losing her place in the witching world forever!
But when Annabelle meets Peter and Judy, her good heart takes over. Instead of frightening them, she guides them through the dark forest, leading to an enchanting adventure filled with comical witches, unexpected magic, and a big choice: follow the rules of wickedness… or stand up for what’s right.
This lighthearted, song-filled romp is packed with laughs, lively characters, and a heartwarming message about staying true to yourself. Kids will be delighted by the colorful witches and playful spells, while parents will love the uplifting story of individuality and compassion winning over fear.
With catchy tunes, a fast-paced plot, and plenty of Halloween fun, “Annabelle Broom, The Unhappy Witch” is the perfect way for families to celebrate the season together.
“Our production of ‘Annabelle Broom, The Unhappy Witch’ is a wonderful way for families to come together and share the joy of live theater. With spectacular sets, glowing magical lights, and surprising effects, the stage becomes a world of wonder. It’s spirited, funny, and uplifting—a reminder that even in a world of witches and magic, kindness is the strongest spell of all,” said director, Jason Furnari.
“We are so excited to be offering this magically fun show as a safe alternative for kids this Halloween season! We chose to produce this show for the great message it has about being your best self and choosing kindness… not to mention, it’s a fun spectacle! We are also so exciting to be having a costume contest at each show, we can’t wait to see our little witches and sorcerers in their costumes… it’s most likely going to be the cutest costume contest ever!” said CEO and president, Marc Hollid-Ausset.
