On April 18, 18 members of Women Sharing Art, a Bayport-based organization that celebrates the feminine mystique through artistic expression, alongside community outreach endeavors, embarked on a tour of The White House.
“It was all made possible through the office of congressman Andrew Garbarino,” said president, Sue Miller.
While in the building, the members were able to see Marine One land and President Joseph Biden and staff depart shortly afterwards.
The D.C. visit included a docent tour of the National Museum for Women in the Arts, the National Gallery of Art & Sculpture Garden, the National Portrait Gallery, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian, and night tour of the monuments.
“It’s always a pleasure to help Long Islanders make their most of their time visiting our nation’s Capitol. There is so much to see and learn about American history and how our government works. From organizing Capitol and White House tours to resolving constituent casework, the services my office offers residents of the 2nd District goes beyond legislation and can be some of the most rewarding parts of my job,” said Garbarino.
