The world premiere of “Boo! A Musical Adventure” by Love Fitz Productions was held this past weekend at the Bayway Arts Center in East Islip.
An original musical written and composed by Sean Fitzgerald and Christine Kerimian Fitzgerald, “Boo!” tells a story of a young ghost trying to find himself and his place in Hauntington (where “you can’t beat the property taxes!”).
Puppeteers Daniel Bishop, Shaina Stroh, Steven Charles, and Brendan Noble were masterful in their character portrayals of the ghouls of Hauntington.
Steve Corbellini and Jim Sluder as Dr. Chuck Chompers and Ned Chompers, respectively, were reminiscent of old Cartoon Network villains and had a high-energy dynamic.
Dana Tortora as Ellie was delicate and respectful in her portrayal of a special-needs child.
Age and message appropriate for the young audience, “Boo!” is the true spirit of Halloween.
